Promoting STEM through art.

We work with students to make art in tribute to science.

Public artworks, like murals, inspire a myriad of thoughts with shape and color. We aim to do the same by working with local students to turn scientific concepts into into art for all.

And like good art, good thoughts endure.

Our process

Our art projects are led by scientific experts who help convey topics of interest into visual graphics. Student input is also key. Students at each school then spend a few days bringing these concepts to life with guidance.

About us

Kimia Sobhani and Sheri Benshian started Main Sequence Stars in spring of 2021. Our name refers to stars in the main portion of their lives, fusing hydrogen to produce helium in their cores as fuel. So this name literally refers to stable, life giving stars, like our sun. And a long time from now these stars will become stardust that gives birth to new stars. Our organization was started by a doctoral scientist/professor and a medical diagnostics expert. We believe that creativity and science go hand in hand. Our public art projects are meant to convey core scientific concepts, or just cool science and nature “stuff” to everyone, especially young minds. And it’s our hope that these projects might spark a light in interested minds for years to come.
